Do I have enough security?

I am cheap so I look for all the free virus killers/spam blockers/etc... Right now I have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011. Is this enough to keep my computer safe or is there something else out there I should be getting? Keep in mind I am looking for free programs only.

No.....AVG is worthless as it misses all serious infections...........Malwarebytes is an excellent program.Keep it and make sure it is updated and scan with it once a week.........Uninstall AVG right now as it uses a lot of resources and does not catch anything........besides an antivirus, you also need a good firewall,a good browser and a good cleaning tool.....Internet Explorer is targeted by most of the malware,so I'd advise you to use Firefox. Also Windows Firewall is not good as it has only inbound protection but no outbound protection meaning it will prevent hackers from entering your PC but if a virus gets through it won't prevent the virus from sending out your personal details like passwords, credit card no,etc..Use Comodo Firewall instead.....also use Glary Utilities to optimise your PC and make it run like new......also use a backup software to backup all of your critical data becoz accidents can happen anytime........and yes plzz uninstall AVG and instead use Miccrosoft Security Essentials,it runs very light and catches al the threats.....they are all free for personal use and will not slow down your PC..........Just make sure you turn off the Windows Firewall From Services(find WindowsFirewall Service) and change startup type to disabled.........hope this helps and happy computing.........If you need further help contact me BUT remember one thing the best security is in your hands,do not download from unknown sites, visit unknown pages and open unknown emails..........you can also use Sandoxie.........learn more about sandboxie and download it from www.sandboxie.com.The links for other softwares are given below

No. Some people with AVG have gotten viruses that have ruined their computer. While there is stuff that can make your computer more secure, malware is a game computer experts play. The expert who is hacking invents a new virus, then the other experts figure out how to cure it.

Your real problem is you use a windows operating system. Get rid of it. Replace it with linux. You can download UBUNTU for free. this software does not have those hidden vulnarabilities that are an integral part of windows. This will end your problems with malware.

    No.

Use Spybot S&D as it is virtually single decent enough anti-malware suite with real time protection, Malwarebytes is scanner/remover only.

    Get a decent firewall too.

Consider getting AVAST or Avira instead AVG.

I would use an antispyware program . I use SuperAntiSpyware myself, although , i hear that Spybot Search and Destroy does a good free job.

I have MSE as my antivirus

I have MBAM as my antimalware

I have SAS as my antispyware.

    Stay safe !

It think that you are well-protected. If you add anymore, it might be overkill.

Remember that you pay for what you get..... (Rolling my ears sarcastically)
