What is your favourite role or movie featuring Leslie Nielsen? What did it mean to you?

Airplane. I think that it was the first film where I saw breasts.

But I loved the one-liners. And still do. And I loved so many of his films. But Airplane stands out.

Flying High is an all time classic as are the Naked Gun films but remember he was also in Scary Movie 3 and 4. His scenes in #3 were some of the highlights of the film and he was the ONLY funny character in #4. Personally I never thought the Scary Movie franchise was good enough for Leslie, he was too skilled a comedic actor for it. Yet in some way it's brand of slapstick comedy was perfect for his sense of humour.

Flying High will always be his best work though. "We have to get him to a hospital." "A hospital? What is it?" "It's a big building with lots of patients but that's not important now."

And "I just want to tell you both good luck, we're all counting on you." Delivered with his impeccable timing even after the plane had landed successfully. Genius.

Rest In Peace, we'll miss you Leslie.

And of course Lt. Frank Drebin - "Jane, since I've met you, I've noticed things I never knew were there before: birds singing...dew glistening on a newly formed leaf...stop lights..."

When a bomb goes off. "Oh, this one's a real mess" "Hey look everyone, Frank found another one"

His straight-faced delivery made him a brilliant comedian, my brother and I couldn't believe he was a serious actor in Forbidden Planet and The Posidon Adventure.

I recall him saying in an interview some years ago. "I want the epitath to read 'Let Him Rip"...to which he then farted.

RIP Leslie Nielsen

Sadly no one even mentions the classic science fiction Forbidden Planet. It was from 1956 and was Mr. Nielsen's second role after his debut film "Ransom!" Forbidden Planet was based on Shakespear's The Tempest.

It's really sad to hear of his death. He seemed to have his most career success as he got older.

My favourite movie moments from Leslie Nielsen included: Naked Gun series, Spyhard, Flying High and Scary Movie 4.

The movie that stands out was Spyhard as he was just so hilarious and I don't know how he keeps a straight face.

How on earth can so much gratuitous violence against do gooding um followers of air ports go un notices by all but those who control Hollywood? No publicity bad, or in the spirit of the movie?

Was Leslie Nielsen a Scientologist? God rest his poor soul he did everything after being a serious actor to be all but seriously funny!

I have had many hours of crying absolute laughter as he stated more powerfully than John Cleese the unformidable and yet, ending up clearing out my lungs, to just prove laughter is the best medicine than whatever that cough syrup was what gave me high blood pressure, Leslie Nielson, we blame the floods in Western NSW on you, heaven is shedding tears of laughter as you keep them rolling in the eisles up where?

Dracula Dead and Loving It!

My dad made us watch this movie and it was the first of Leslie Nielsen's movies that we watched. We liked him in Mr. Magoo too but this is no.1

Talented and always will be remembered.
