Can James Harrison from the Steelers sue the NFL for giving him fines?

It is so silly.

The NFL is not "picking" on Harrison. He is bringing it all upon himself. It's funny how every other NFL player can play by the new rules except for Harrison. Yes, playing dirty is part of his game, but he should also know the consequences of that by now.

it truly is laughably over the right. I understand the "repeat criminal" tag, however the ridiculous section is that between the hits wasn't even referred to as a penalty (regardless of the undeniable fact that it could have been). Of each and all the hits this weekend, Harrison's truly have been the least worrisome - the two considered one of them have been likely unintended - the ballcarrier dropped his head, and it ended up being helmet to helmet. i don't think it became malicious. in addition, the Dunta Robinson hit did not truly deserve a great wonderful - at a similar time because it became slightly grimy (because of the fact it became a defenseless receiver, and he hit interior the helmet/neck element of jackson), it truly is a style of hits which will ensue from time to time. If the league fines them, ok, yet to place them interior a similar classification because of the fact the Meriweather hit is ridiculous. As somebody else mentioned, the Meriweather hits have been those that deserved the biggest wonderful - 2 helmet to helmet hits, considered one of which became a suited typhoon of each and every thing you at the instant are not meant to do - against a defenseless receiver, launching, helmet to helmet, no play on the ball.... truly gruesome/grimy. He deserved the biggest wonderful. For Harrison/Robinson, regardless of the undeniable fact that a great probable is warranted (given the recent regulations - i don't believe it, yet that's irrelevant at this element), I take extreme subject concerns with them being interior a similar group because of the fact the Meriweather hits.

Harrison is by far the dirties player in the league hands down... the guy is a thug... when he signs his contract, he agrees to abide by the rules set forth by the NFL... if he does not like the rules, he is not forced to play and is always welcome to retire... NFL is a private enterprise and has its own set of rules that are enforceable unless they are in real violation of the criminal codex, which they clearly are not... even if by some chance Harrison could do something to the NFL, the most he could sue for is the amount of his loss... which is really not all that much... so no... its one of those "come ready to play or don't come at all" things... he either abides by the rules, or he leaves the league... no in-between...

The NFL is just enforcing the rules and Harrison is a frequent violator of the same rule. If it continues, he should be kicked out of the league. Let him go play in the CFL or something. Piece of garbage.

Nope. He signed a contract that said he wouldn't sue the NFL. But honestly he's kinda asking for it. When the NFL fines you you don't just say oh I'm just gonna keep hitting like that. Its asking for another fine.

Nope. The NFL can do as they like to Harrison, and the only thing that he (and his fans) can do is bend over and take it.

But there is talk of some of the players that Harrison gave concussions to suing him. So you might have some courtroom drama after all.

What's so silly is that he keeps on making dangerous hits again and again. What's so silly is that all of those fines add up to less than one quarter of one game's pay for him.

One quarter of one game's pay versus ending a guy's career, paralyzing him for the rest of his life and him losing his NFL pay for the rest of his life.

He's gotten off easy I think.

  • Nope, just try to appeal. I'm not even a Steelers fan but I agree that the refs and NFL are targeting him. Meanwhile Andre Johnson gets a small fine for ripping off a player's helmet and wailing on his head.

It's clear the NFL is picking on Harrison.

If he wouldn't have threatend to retire over the new strictily enforced hitting rules, then they may not be on him so much.

Fact is the Refs like to watch everything he does except when he being held most of the game by take downs and choke holds.
