My car was parked in the street and when I went out to it the drivers side mirror was shattered, what can I do?

College kid not making a lot of money, on a residential street, didn't see who did it, already checked and theres no pieces of the other mirror on the ground, basically nothing to go off. Am I screwed?

Yep! Same thing happened to my Grand Daughter. Only hers was passenger side and in a parking lot.

Probably, but still file a police report. If these vandals hit a series of cars, someone might have seen something and unless you file a claim, you won't be in the loop. You might try going to a salvage yard to see if you can buy a similar mirror for dirt cheap. Then, maybe you can talk to a couple mechanics to see if anyone can reattach it at minimal cost.

A mirror is most likely going to be a lot less than your insurance deductible. Get an estimate and see about replacing it. Unless of course there is damage to more than just the mirror.

Bite the bullet and go to a salvage yard to get a replacement. Any other course of action will just hike your insurance bill.

If I were you I would be sure to call the insurance company...and maybe even call the cops and tell them what happend to your mirror. I really dont think you are screwed...so good luck

Replace it your-self. insurance will not give you satisfaction. you probably have a $500.00 deductible anyhow. once you report it to the insurance company it will go on your record, even though they know it wasn't your fault.
