internet speed please read the whole question?
i'm paying for 6mbs, i did a down speed test it came back as ping 73 download 1430kbs upload 360kbs. is this equal to 6 mbs in memory terms 1430kbs is about 1.3mb is it the same for internet speeds.
the more research i do on this i see so many people saying they pay for 6mbs and recieve 1.5mbs this is not right i don't expect 6 because of traffic but 1.5 is a quarter of advertised speeds is this false advertisement.

Yes, your contract MOST likely says "up to," and there are other considerations like what type of network you are on. Is it a shared network like a cable network, or dedicated like DSL? Also, depending on how far you are from the CO, you might lose goodput. There are a lot of factors, but unless you have a "Service Level Agreement" with your provider, you're best to just complain and see what you can get from complaining.

I think you will find your contract contains the magic words." .....up to 6mb" and depending on what type of cable you have and how far you are from the nearest exchange will govern your speed, but I would contact my ISP and complain maybe there is a fault on the line reducing the speed.
