My extension cord won't plug into my Christmas lights. What should I do?

I just hung Christmas lights over my garage door and over my front door. The garage door lights plug into the extension cord. Then the extension cord is supposed to plug into the front door lights and the door lights are then plugged into a different extension cord that plugs into the wall. The extension cord will not plug into the front door lights because the cord has a fat and skinny prong whereas the lights have two skinny holes. What should I do?

Garage door **** extension cord xxxx front door ****extension cord **** inside wall.

xxxx= problem

    You will need to buy an adapter. If you take the two cables you need to connect to an electronics store, they should be able to give you the one you need.

    Pros do no advise it, however it can be done and is...tie a VERY loose knot (open knot) in the two cords so you do no pull one out of the other and be certain to plug in to a surge protector. If you are able to purchase a longer extension cord, do so. :)

    Go to the store to buy a suitable adapter.

    They have plug adapters which basically make it so you can plug it in. Try asking someone at your local hardware store.

    They sell adaptors for that.
