Mariah song is most popular Christmas hit?

just read this little bit on the yahoo pop pages that the ghastly screechings of mariah bl00dy carey`s `all i want for christmas` is apparentley the most played christmas song over the last decade or so

the top 10 being :

1. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

2. Last Christmas - Wham!

3. Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl

4. Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade

5. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - Wizzard

6. Do They Know It's Christmas? - Band Aid

7. Driving Home For Christmas - Chris Rea

8. Stop The Cavalry - Jona Lewie

9. White Christmas - Bing Crosby

10. Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow! - Dean Martin

unless this survey was done in the USA its surely rubbish,i can not believe for one moment that, that terrible waste of 3 minutes along with a few others can honestly have been played more then the slade track or the classic by wizzard since i was a kid ive known its nearing christmas for several reasons ;-

toy adverts are on telly 24/7 all of a sudden

that bleeding coke `holiday is coming` jingle

and `i wish it could be christmas` ringing out across the airwaves no matter what station your radio is tuned to

slade and wizard are more christmas then turkey and cranberry sauce who made up those figures

Who did they survey? Nobody in their right mind plays Mariah Carey except to scare away rodents and small children whilst Wham!'s Last Christmas is enough to make the most cheerful Christmas elf say, "f*ck off - you're not getting any presents, you limp ****." Jona Lewie is the best on that list, along with Slade, Wizzard and Bing Crosby. Nobody listens to Chris Rea. Come off it.

I know it's horrible, the song is played in every mall and radio station, many times a day. so it is probable how such a song go so high up. The Slade and Wizzard songs on this list are far more iconic to Christmas time for me than that over-hyped screaming earache machine will ever be!
