Republicans have guts to use reconciliation. Democrats are gutless cowards. Republicans know how to wield power. Democrats are weak and just get rolled over by the Republicans, even if they are the ones in control.
The truth is that they don't need reconciliation. All they have to do is let them naturally expire. That's the way they were passed. The automatically expire unless the congress votes to extend them and the Pres. signs. They have to be renewed. Democrats could stop the tax cuts from being renewed if they wanted to, or by trying to pass an extension for those making less than $1,000,000 per year. Democrats are too big cowards to even do that.

I think they will use reconciliation as a last resort, they have 53 votes on both proposals. I hope they will use the next few days to force the Republicans to defend denying a tax cut for ALL taxpayers, they might not need reconciliation with public outcry.

Why would they? The tax cuts are set to expire at the end of the month. All the Dems need to do is...nothing. And the tax cuts will go away.
Of course, this will also affect the middle class, something neither the Dems or Republicans want to happen.
