I don't know what's up with me, am i depressed?

First i thought it was my time of the month... but it's been going on for months. At no percific time.

I'm surrounded by friends, and i have an amazing boyfriend, but i still feel lonley. Especially around my friends. I feel like they all hate me, and nobody considers me as their friend anymore. I feel like i've gotten so distant from people, for no reason. I feel lame and stupid and useless. And i have no confidence anymore. I get nervous about talking to people. I don't know if it's the stress of exams, or depression, or what

please help x

From what I've seen, not only on Answers, but in my personal life, this is extremely common; I myself am having this same sort of trouble. Someone had this same question yesterday, here was my original response:

"I don't have a solution, but I am in the same boat. And, just as you, I have nothing to be unhappy about - Spotless academics, great family & friends, everything has fallen into place, but I am also, for lack of better wording, a complete jerk. The only answer I can come up with is, maybe you're not embracing life...? For the past couple weeks I've been hounded about loosening up...so, I started a list of stress free things that make me a more outgoing person, you might find some of them useful: Watch completely pointless videos on YouTube (personal favorite, haha), go for a run (or walk, I suppose), find a new (preferably pointless) hobby, start a conversation with a stranger, spend time volunteering, play a musical instrument, even if it's the kazoo. :) Hope you find your own solution soon."

I don't know if this will help you at all, but it has drastically helped me. :)

I felt the same way last year. It was totally weird. first, I got really sensitive and thought everyone hated me, which caused my confidence to go down the drain. my friends noticed and blamed my boyfriend. Then it got to a point where i had no one. i still don't know what happened but i got out of it by reading completely different books from chick to fantasy to religious. this helped me find myself, so to speak. after that my confidence came back and i saw life in a different light. i don't know if this will work for you but yeah.

Just don't let people get to you. some no matter how sweet on the outside just want to be or feel on top so they put you down.
