Vegetarians: Are you ever tempted to eat meat at all?

I'm vegan and the only time I get tempted is when everyone at my work are eating McDonald's, while I'm eating my salad... But I gave in once and got a burger and fries, and I couldn't finish it, my taste buds had changed and it just tasted wrong... I don't really have cravings now after that, I'm now happy with my salad and strawberries. I think I just crave the seasonings and fries truth be told, not the meat itself. I think it depends on how long you've changed your lifestyle and your reasons as to why you became vegetarian/vegan, if you did it for the rights of cows then I don't think you'll crave it, but if you change for health reasons, sometimes you want to be unhealthy for the day :). If you are vegetarian/vegan and you are having these cravings, there are tasty meat substitutions out there, Boca makes the best in my opinion their spicy 'chicken' patties are the best and I used to eat chicken patties before and I can't tell the difference between the two. Though if you're vegan some of their stuff has milk and eggs so you have to be careful.

I definitely have been a vegetarian for a million 12 months and 5 months, yet I ate meat for the 1st 17 years of my life. i can actually say that i are not getting tempted to consume meat. there are maximum of meat suggestions that style good and don't have as lots fat, oil, and ldl cholesterol as frequently happening meat that i definitely relish vegetarian nutrition better than meat. Meat definitely stinks and seems nasty to me. i do no longer even get hungry, while i'm around meat. the biggest to being a vegetarian is to consume an excellent form of ingredients. in case you have no longer already, attempt some Boca, Morningstar Farms, Lightlife, and Amy's Kitchen ingredients. those are manufacturers of vegetarian ingredients which could be stumbled on at Pathmark, give up & shop, and Supermarkets that sell organic and organic ingredients. they have veggie hen sandwiches, veggie hen nuggets, veggie floor pink meat, veggie burgers, veggie ribs, veggie hen strips, veggie ham slices, veggie turkey slices, veggie BBQ protein, veggie meatballs, veggie lasagna, and lots greater. Burgerking has a veggie burger value meal. It comes with a fries and drink. The burger is made break away the beef, and you could ask for it without mayonaise, to shrink the fat. The fries are made break away their meat products, too. Their dutch apple pie slices are vegan. chinese language eating places sell sesame bean curd and typical tso's bean curd. desire this helps.

I used to, but the longer I stay vegan the less appealing meat becomes. That's down two main factors; I've stopped seeing meat as food and now see it as a piece of an animal which is pretty unappetising, and I'm also so used to just eating vegan food (and loving it) that I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. In fact, I'm eating much more efficiently and deliciously now that I'm vegan than I did when I ate meat. :)

No, because I haven't eaten it since I was little so it doesn't seem like food to me. I used to eat fish but didn't miss it when I gave it up. It is hard not to eat cheese, though. It tastes and smells good, and it seems like it's everywhere.
Off-topic but somewhat interesting: years ago I worked in a weight loss clinic and a few clients decided to try giving up meat or eating less of it. They always developed cravings for peanut butter, I guess because they were looking for fat and protein.

My Great-Uncle Charles, when he was alive, used to describe himself as the world's only meat-eating vegetarian. He was a vegetarian by personal choice, but when he went to his daughter's for dinner, she served him meat and he would eat it anyway!

No. I don't really look at it as food anymore. To be honest, I won't even touch it because it kind of freaks me out.

Not really. I think eggs and milk are much harder to give up than meat.

yep at first I was very tempted.
Especially for bacon I think that was the hardest thing for me to let go
but after a year or so, It doesnt bother you anymore.
At least for me, you get used to your own little diet and don't even think about meat anymore.
Best of luck for the whole vegetarian thing (if u r one)
you're doing a great thing for yourself, the planet, and of course the animals :D

I can honestly say no.
It's been so long since I've eaten it that I can no longer even look at it as food! It just doesn't seem appetizing to me at all.
