Are these 2 video cards crossfire compatible with each other?
I know they both have Xfire abilities...but could a ATI Radeon™ HD 4850 be crossefired with AMD Radeon™ HD 6850 or 6870. If so, would the older model affect the newer model's capabilities, such as 6850/6870's 3D Bluray playback? THX.

I wouldn't - they're not listed on AMD's compatibility matrix either

The answer is yes according to this ATI/AMD link. This link has all the info on crossfire. Apparently you will only get the performance of the slower gpu so that would not be good in my estimation. Check out the link
