Pain during last stage of pregnancy?
This will include TMI - so if you will be offended please do not read. For the last day or two, but particularly today I have been getting sort of stabbing pains in my private area. They do not last for long but are quite intense. I am 37+4 pregnant and have had some complications mid pregnancy (bleeding and cramping). I have also had last night and today some on and off period type pains in my lower abdomen. Are these signs of labour or infection? I am seeing the mid wife tomorrow, but would just like to know if anyone else has experienced this. Many thanks. x

heya, im 37wks 3 days & i hav bin gettin this stabbin pain 4 awhile now, i asked my midwife & she sed its the babies head pushin dwn & ur cervix getting ready! If you r worried then call ur health care provider. hope this helps :)

I'd say more likely to be your body getting ready for labour rather than infection. Especially the stabbing pain bit! I had that too, my midwife said it was from dilating. Good luck x
