British super bike ,TT and irish road racing one championship ?
well with money tight and the need to save money one championship for superbikes in Britain would make sense. so instead of visiting some main land circuit's twice they would go to the NW200, Ulster GP, Southern100, TT and Cooktown100. this would mean that manufactures would only have to support one team tobe seen at all of Britain's top events. and on top of this we would for the first have British superbike champion who will have had to ride all over britain. after all in car racing F1 goes to road races ie Monaco as well specially made tracks(no need for 2 championships!)
so the same type of machine on the roads and on the tracks so all i ask is one championship to save money easy.

I doesnt work, The Likes of John Mcguinnes who owns the island never seems to do too well on the short circuits.
the bikes are set up totally different for road racing than the short tracks, mostly due to track surface. so no saving there.
the circuits involved in the british championship all need to have racing there to survive.
the TT and irish road racing are all connected in the road racing championship just not connected to british superbikes. most riders do both (well the top riders do )
Its more to do with been seen at more events for the sponsors rather than less coverage in one championship.
it would be like saying why have MotoGP and world Superbikes when they change MotoGP to 1000cc in 2012. all down to sponsorship and promotion.

Procs point about the riders been suited to tracks is correct. Jogn Mc been a good point, 5 times winner Ian Hutchy another good case in point.
Also, the reason the TT is no longer part of the world circuits, its too dangerous. 90% of people who race BSB wont race the TT and other of the road tracks due to this reason and money. The smaller teams might not have the budget to fund whole weeks away racing when they are on a shoestring budget anyway
Good idea it though, I would like to see it, but I dont think it will happen.

yes would make sense after all the only hard thing is to find a rider who will do well in both formats. the wets will say that the road races are dangerous but these races happen anyway so the rider who will not ride in all races will not get a ride simple. after all Carl Fogarty did very well in both formats.

it would be interesting, there is not a vast difference between the bikes, road and track, but i would see a lot of problems between the different body's fighting for a piece of the action, personally i wouldn't want to see it change
