Can I Join ASCAP Without Being a Current Performer?
I would love to join to get the door open for talks on collaborations but right now I can just write lyrics. I also have nothing published and have not performed. It's all just words on my pc. Can the $35 fee allow me to join?
Also if you have any tips on getting in if I have to perform please tell me.

You might be best to ask ASCAP themselves - their rules aren't actually that clear.
