Any luck or advice for prolotherapy for their pets with joint/arthritis issues?
I have an 11 year old lab/australian shepard/german shepard mix who has arthritis in her hind legs. Only recently have her legs been giving out on her when she walks. She is in good spirits-- she is not in pain and all she wants to do is play. I do not have the heart to put her down since since she is still as happy as can be.
I've been trying to do some research but not that much information is available on the web. My friend emailed a local vet for me but I thought I'd get some answers from those out there who have actually experienced the treatment with their pet.
My questions:
Was it costly?
How much did each treatment cost?
How many treatments were needed?
How quickly did you see signs of improvement?
Are you happy with the results?
Would you recommend this treatment?

my dog is very young, but has had many joint problems, it was never diagnosed, but we were told that it could be arthritis. we gently rub her joints when she gets up after laying or sitting for a long time, and also give her very cheap joint pain pills from costco that are for humans but can be used on dogs, it was recommended for her to have physical therapy in a heated pool, but it was too expensive, but if you have any pool, creek, lake or anything it is supposed to help for the dog to play in the water
