Will lifting only light weights allow me to lose weight and tone and not gain muscle mass?
I want to lift weights but I don't really want to bulk up. The only things I'll be doing to gain muscle is Assisted pull ups (so I can start doing them on my own), push ups and crunches (so I can do a lot more than I currently can which is many).
Also when lifting light weights to tone what is the recommended reps?

Cardio is what burns fat for weight loss. To tone when working with lighter weight, you need to do more reps. I do and recommend 3 sets of 15. So if your goal is weight loss and toning, do cardio 45-60 minutes 3-5 times/week. Do strength training 1-3 times/week but not for as long. 20 minutes may be enough.

Say for Biceps, your curling a E-Z curl bar,put enough weight on it,where you can do about 20 reps. The last 2 or so reps should be kinda tough to do.If you do that for about 2 hours a day (of course not with the same muscle group) you will start to tone, but not bulk up.

Keep in mind that I am NOT a doctor, this is just my experience and what I've heard.
When you build muscle, it helps burn fat even when you're not burning calories. That's why it's very important to include weight training into a workout regimen.
You can also talk to a trainer about a regimen that's right for you. I was recommended 2 sets of 12 repetitions.

Why don't you want to bulk up?! I love my men with muscles!! What a shame. Just don't work with heavy weights... do light weight more reps.
Best of luck
