Why Do Republicans think Employers will start hiring with Bush Tax cuts?

So Now that We have Passed the Bush Tax cuts again for those Millionaires and Billionaires to Start putting up some big jobs, Will the economy start to do better now that Republicans have said this will Create Jobs for Americans? when they are certain about the tax cuts? Those tax cuts have been in place for 10 years and they haven't created many jobs in the U.S. Have the employers been uncertain for 10 years?

The job creating powers of the tax cuts was 7+ years ago. Since then, they have become the new normal of the economic landscape. Not extending them now is equivalent to a huge tax hike. How does a huge raise in taxes help an economy, especially one that is ailing?

Businesses are holding on to their profits because every time they turn around, the government is dropping some anti-business policy on them; national health care, attempts at Cap & Trade and Card Check to name a few. Business hates uncertainty. They need to know what their expenses are going to be for the next year or two. What's more uncertain than not knowing what your taxes are going to be? The high-end Bush tax cuts have been hanging over their heads like the Sword of Damocles. Now that is close to being resolved.

Look to the end of the first quarter of next year for big improvements. With the Republican gains in Congress come January 3rd, business will feel safe expanding knowing Congress has their back.

Exactly right - the tax rates we're under right now have been in place for ten years, so repealing them would have been a tax increase - this is not a tax CUT. The dump our economy took in late 2008 had nothing to do with our income tax rates so the argument that we should raise taxes because the economy went bad makes no sense. What does make sense is the fact that for the private sector to grow and create more jobs, businesses to have a reasonable idea of what the future will bring. That is, business hates uncertainty. The "Bush tax cut" controversy along with increased govt regulation and big spending have created an environment of more uncertainty so business have been hunkered down to wait it out and see what happens next. The extension of the current tax rates isn't a cure-all, but it will help. Lastly, why is it so important to the Left that "the rich" pay more in taxes? The top 5% of income earners already pay 95% of the total income tax burden - when will it be enough? I think it just drives people like you crazy that some people earn more than you do and you can only be happy by dragging them down to your level. To the Left, equality means "equally miserable". If you think your taxes are too low, the govt will happily accept your check for however much extra you want to send them.

You haven't been listening very well. No one has thought that. We didn't get any tax cuts, we just avoided the largest tax hike in history. The tax hike would have likely resulted in jobs losses. You also have a short memory, between 2003 and 2006 we had unemployment lows over the previous 40 years. As opposed to Obama's economy with now 9.8% unemployment. Are you saying that doubling the unemployment rate is better?

I guess the concept of cause and effect escapes you. Continuing the across the board tax cuts will have the effect of preventing a further dip in the economy. If you want jobs then you need to cut the taxes even more

Because the money will creep down through the system. When the rich (who aren't really a bunch of snooty Americans who would turn their noses up if they saw you. They just worked hard and got paid for it) get a tax cut it will give them more money. Then they will either hire more people to expand their business and make more money, or they will go out and spend it. Either one stimulates the economy.

You are right they have been saying for years that cutting taxes on the rich create jobs. and they lie now about saying it since they have gotten their way because they know that they wont create jobs. They are disgusting excuses for human beings.

They really don't believe that. It's all about greed and the lust for more money & power.

That money in tax cuts for the rich gets spent on Swiss Ski Trips, Cruises, a new Bentley, or a new home.

Who says that? I just think that we will see unemployment rise even higher with the Obama tax raise.

It's going to happen, so you can stop calling it the "Bush tax cuts" and start calling it the "Obama tax cuts."

Business needed to know what to expect so they could prepare a budget. I think they would have started hiring no matter which way it went, they just wanted to know what to expect.
