Help with question concerning functions.?

Please help with these two questions concerning functions.

A) Does the relation { (1/2), (3,3), (-7,2), (1,5), (2,0) } define a function? Please explain.

and

B) Does the equation x=y^2 define y as a function of x? Please explain.

    A) No it doesn't define a function since the same value of independent variable x has two different values associated with dependent variable. like (1,2) and (1,5)

    B) Yes because x= Y^2 is also the same as Y= sqrt(x)
