When I play gta:sa, my saves restart?

I have the PC version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, NOT a pirate (so don't blame piracy on this) and when I stop playing gta, all my saves restart to the beginning of the game, both in money and progress, no matter how far I get. They have the right mission name on them, but as soon as I load, it starts them at the point after the introduction (where you talk to Sweet on the phone).

What is this bug? How do I correct it?

Update:

Oh, and there is no error messages, and I do not use cheats.

    Solution:

    Reinstall the game

    or

(1)Play your game to any point that you want and save it.

(2)Pause the game and do control+alt+delete and enter into task manager.

(3)Minimize the GTA: San Andreas game. Right click and click minimize.

(4)Go to your documents on your computer.

(5)There will be a folder called GTA San Andreas User Files. Copy that to

your desktop or where ever you will remember.

(6)Go back to your GTA San Andreas window and exit the game.

(7)Then copy it back to your documents when you are ready to play GTA SA again.

(8)Repeat these steps every time you want save the GTA SA game.

If there is no GTA San Andreas User Files folder then you are stuck and have to reinstall it.
