How do I save a document in windows 7 without overwriting the old version?

I can't find the little "save as" feature. In "Home" I don't even see the save feature! It is on the top left corner as an icon, but it only allows me to save, not to "save as" thus I have overwritten important files!! PLEASE Help!

The globe. Save As is in there, if you're talking about Word 2007 or 2010. (Windows doesn't save anything, it's an operating system, not a program that saves files.)

Copy it to somewhere else and then you can edit it. But you will the old version and the new version.

Example your document is on desktop, create a folder on desktop and copy and paste the document to the folder and now you can edit the document from the new folder

    Good luck

Just copy the .Doc or .xls file , paste it and rename it another option is goto file menu > choose save as
