Would it be harder for a dog to chew through poly pipe or a garden hose?

I have a puppy that likes to chew through electrical cords so I need something to cover them until he learns not to. I've already tried vinyl tubing and that didn't even slow him down. If you have any other ideas, please share!

My dog can literally chew through anything ,I've seen him chew through the garden hose and try to chew through the poly pipe but I guess it didn't quite work out for him so he went to his chew toy. The poly pipe was left with dents and some holes, my dog is a pit bull terrier x Stafford-shire so therefore those types of dogs have an extremely strong and large jaw.

Try get your dog to chew through chew toys ,its like really thick rope and is very hard for him to chew through ,

    But best of luck <3

MeganC. There are a lot of ways you can stop your puppy from chewing on electrical cords. You're fortunate that the puppy isn't dead! I had two clients whose puppies did this and got electrocuted. First off, if you catch him doing it, just say "NO!" and say it with authority! Then give him a toy to chew on. If he is persistent, buy a jar of HOT! Jalapeno peppers and smear the cord with it. After a couple of nibbles he'll back off real quick like. Don't be alarmed, because his lips will swell a little and become hard. He'll also shake his head a lot. This is a reaction from the pepper juice. Myself, I would just use the command "NO!" and see how that works. You can also take an empty soda can and put some pennies in it; and when you catch him chewing on a cord, shake it at him and say "NO!" This will scare the doo-doo out of him. I hope that I have been of some help to you and your puppy. As a note, get him some chew toys.

Not sure about the pipe, but I know every pup I ever had thought the garden hose was a great chew toy. Got to the point that I don't even use the hose until they're at least a year old.

My dog chewed our garden hose to pieces. But the poly pipe would probably work. Also you can buy bitter apple spray and spray it on whatever you don't want the puppy to chew. It works pretty good but you need to respray after a few weeks because it eventually wares off.

On the rare occasions when my puppy chewed on the cupboard knobs I used orange peel (not the whole orange or you'll end up with ants) and rubbed it on the knob. She HATED that. Cover the cords with PVC and rub it with orange peel.
