Left abdomen pain, schocking pain when cough.?

My mom has a histoy of abdominal problems. starts when she had a gastric bypass about 18 years ago.

she's has had multiple bowel obstructions, multiple operations to fix them, shes had her gall bladder out, last year she was in the hospital for diverticulitis, masses in the liver, she had her appendix taken out at the same time. Shes on multiple medications for stomach problems, all these problems usually start out in the month of december.. I dont know if stress caues it but..its horrible to see her go through pain.

This time its in the upper left abdomen and it hurts when she coughs. My guess with the location is the spleen.. otherthan the pain and the swollen belly and the shocking when she coughs there arent any other symptoms other than fatigue.. she's also feeling down alot (mentally)

after all the things she's been through its really hard to get her to go to the hospital, last year when her pain started she toughed it out to the point where something had bust and she was poisoning herself.. but yes i will be getting her to the doctor soon.

wat do you think the pain could be? upper left abdomen apin ( she describes it as nagging pain), swollen, shocking pain when coughing.

Update:

francisco.. i hope your spleen enlarges and bursts...because thats just the amount of respect you have for other people when obviously im on here looking for help. so.. please enjoy your bursted spleen.

Update 2:

well, It was 2 broken ribs

The pain could be from so many things, no one here could really hazard a guess. The pain could be occurring in that spot, or it could be referred pain - the actual origin of pain is somewhere else. Best left for doctors to try to figure out. With multiple bowel obstructions and abdominal surgeries in the past, it could be due to anything.
