Worth it for what? It would be OK for word processing, emailing, browsing the internet (if you use FireFox Browser). But that is about all. I have tried to donate systems like that and better but no one wants them.

That system will be really slow in todays standards. It also will only run older programs and software.

    Have fun

With software changing so rapidly (especially on the Web), used computers can be a poor value unless they are only a few years old - and higher end models at that. See "Moore's Law."

HOWEVER, if you wanted to mess around with (free) low-memory-usage Linux, e.g. Puppy Linux or Xubuntu, that computer could make a good experimental unit. There is something satisfying about making a slow machine seem fast by today's standards, and getting one over on the paid software system. Linux is still not so great for non-tinkerers, though.

nope.. this is NOT a good computer even for a 2 year old child to play pinball in it...... Look, i think you are struggling to stick to a budget or something, do your self a favor, collect money for some time and get a better one. If you get this machine, your life will suck BIG time, 24X7.... even when the machine is turned off...

    i suggest you this:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500

    Motherboard: Foxconn G31 Mxp-K

    RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz

    Hard Disc: 250GB SATA

    DVD RW

    450W PSU

    Good luck

If it's like $10, and you are the type that likes opening up computers and just trying stuff out on them, then why not? If it costs any more then that, it would be pointless to buy something so outdated.

no, you'll be lucky if you get into windows without pulling out your hair. That's quite slow.

20gb... avg now on a lappy is 500GB

    320mb ram.... avg now is 3-4GB (or 3,000 - 4,000 MB)

it's going to be painfully slow.
