Number of divorce cases are increasing in Saudi Arabia ?
The latest, reason being the spouse (wife) being more educated than the husband. I also remember, arabnews reading that saudi bachelors are marrying more foreign women, than saudi women cause they can't afford the dowries of women from saudi. What are your views on this.
I still don't get why the in laws are more concerned about the dowry. I believe, as long as there is enough funds for a couple to get married and fend them self, it should be enough for a marriage. I feel pity for all the Saudi men out there, this is why I sometime think that the society needs to be open for change. In my opinion, the parents from both sides should lay the ground work for their children to start up their lives, if they are unable to do it them self in the beginning.

Dowry is a big problem as well in India, many families get ruined when their daughter gets married... in this society the dowry is for the husbands family who tends to demand more and more... even after the marriage has taken place...
In Middle East dowry is just the other way around and many young men can not even think of getting married until they reach their late 30`th... working all life for paying a dowry.
So what does this mean?
I can understand that these young men are fed up waiting so long and having to save up all they have for a marriage... so they marry a woman from somewhere else... I mean a girl from a modest family will not demand such crazy amounts and if the girl is occidental, dowry does not exist in these societies at all...
Divorce exist everywhere... and it is okay and has to exist, as there are many cases where it is impossible that the couple survives... so better a divorce than suffering the whole life.
Maybe many more women wish to get divorced nowadays because they prefer their personal freedom to a demanding husband, or because their husbands are such a lot of years older than she and this leads to problems... I don´t think that the higher education of a wife leads to higher divorce rates, but indeed the age gap between spouses does...
Anyway, nowadays people run for divorce for everything... in Spain divorce rate is higher than marriage rate... people get married just for fun and get divorced after the first stupid discussion, because it is no fun anymore... poor children,,, what a future!!!

people in these times the world over in modern countries are not satisfied with the simple things in life..
100 years ago, people were happy with a roof over their heads and food on the table, and a good hard working, loving, faithful, God fearing spouse...
now both husband and wife demand more, and get upset easier and dont try to work around their problems like they did in the past.. They leave now for the silliest reasons... There is no more communication and understanding and respect for the fellow human anymore....

I agree with you on this point, ''saudi people or anyone who wish to marry saudi woman, should have lot's of money''....saudi people also prefer to marry others now. It's strange for saudi woman, if they are not get married at right time, they are going to find an other way for self satisfaction which is not good.
