What kind of socks may you send in a Military care package?

I am sending a care package to my brother's unit in Afghanistan. He told me he would like to receive some socks and underwear. The guy that emails the families gave a list of acceptable brands, but I lost the list. I plan on getting it there by Christmas, so I'm sending them by Wednesday. What brands do they accept for socks and underwear? What do soldier's prefer?

Thanks!

Update:

Like what brands? I know they have to be pretty thick to resist flammable damage. Anyone have specific brands and what I should look for?

    Try this site: http://www.covertthreads.com/

They are quite expensive, but totally worth the money. If your brother is in the Northern Afghanistan, where it gets very cold at night, try the "Ice."

Here are a couple things to consider when it comes to the underwear, does he prefer boxers or briefs? As for socks, each service is different on what they wear. Tan or green socks may suit the needs for him. If he has to have a specific color, then it may require getting something from the website below and having them shipped directly to him, without you having to repackage and mail and you can do that almost immediately to place the order. AAFES is Army and Air Force Exchance Service and you can order from their website. It is now called the Exchange as all 4 services are included. Depending on where your brother is at, cold weather socks may come in handy as the temps are dropping here into the mid 20s where I am at, at night. I don't know what particular brand your brother wants but the AAFES site below should help.

you recognize people can sit down right here and allow you to recognize what to get all day long and you will get the comparable solutions many times lower back.. What I did when I sent my equipment to a girl militia Member.. I merely pictured in my head perhaps what they are dealing with and what could make me sense stable to get in a container.. you recognize because we are women all of us recognize what others like.. Dont overlook to bypass to bath and physique works and get her a stable lotion for after bathe... thank you for sending something to a minimum of certainly one of our Heros... and that they dont choose stamps there, they have loose mail..God Bless

White and/or black socks are best. I don't know what soldiers prefer, but I know my Dad and my sister use Hanes a lot so I guess...

brand doesn't matter as long as they are soft. They'll be his "happy socks".
