In Harry Potter and Philospher's Stone (book)?

Hagrid says he 'flew' to get Harry from the Dursleys but how did he fly? He takes Harry back to shore on that boat and Hagrid can't ride Threstrals or brooms. I thought maybe Sirius' motorbike but then wouldn't Harry have seen that outside? And then wouldn't Hagrid have taken Harry back on it?

It's been a while since I've read the book, but Hagrid can only fly on his motorcyle, so that's probably what he was talking about. I feel like he had a magical umbrella or something, but I could've just dreamt that up, lol.

As for Harry seeing him; books tend to ignore the obvious actions like that you would think of. It asks the reader to ignore logic at times for the sake of the plot.

Unless, the book said, "floo", not "flew", which would be the wizard form of transportation.
