Amar'e Stoudemire for MVP?
During the off season, people didn't even think twice that the Knicks are going to be good this season even when Amare signed with them. They said, Steve Nash only makes Amare Stoudemire a superstar. Now the Knicks are one of the best teams in the east and Amar'e Stoudemire looks primed for the best season of his career. Don't overlook this guy, he is a legit contender for MVP this season and even if he doesn't get it, he will in the future.
Have you even seen the Knicks roster? David Lee and Harrington left, their two best players! Replaced by Amare Stoudemire and the Knicks suddenly gelled. When role players like Chandler, Galo, Felton, etc play around a superstar they play so well. I mean look at Memphis, they have a very good roster and yet they lack a superstar to center the team around, Gay hasn't really fit that spot and Randolph too. Amar'e Stoudemire is that superstar. Like Dirk for the Mavs, Durant for the Thunder, Dwight for the Magic.
Amar'e Stoudemire is my MVP. Kobe won't win as long as he's got a super talented team. Lebron and Wade won't win it playing with each other. Durant won't win it unless his team overachieves and wins like 57 or more games. Dwight? Maybe? Stoudemire can really do it. If the Knicks win 50 games?
What do you think?

As of right now, ~25 games into the season, Amare is probably a frontrunner for the MVP. His numbers are there. He is THE man on his team, and he can get the lion's share of the credit for his team's success, not something that too many other candidates can say right now. It's hard to say if he can maintain this level of production over the course of a season, and the Knicks still have yet to be tested against the game's elite, but if we assume the best, I would say it's a reasonable assumption that he finishes in the top 3 this year, and he definitely has a case as being the Most Valuable Player over the course of the 2010-2011 season.

The Knicks and Amare aren't that impressive. They've been taking advantage of an extraordinarily easy early season schedule to pile up a ton of style points. They're 25 games into the season, and their most impressive win so far is a road W against the Bulls back in the beginning of November. The Knicks have yet to play the Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, Heat, or Magic, and they lost their only game against the Celtics. Meanwhile, they've already played over a dozen games against the bottom third of the league.
They'll face some competition in the next month, finally. Celtics, Heat, Spurs, Lakers, Jazz and Magic. That'll give us a lot better read on just how good they really are.

If Amar'e keeps up this level of production for the rest of the season, sure. But I'm more of a doubter than a believer. You look at his minutes and he's logging a lot of them. The last few games he's had about 40 per game and that's a lot especially for a athletic big man.
@Ross Daniels, stop being so ignorant. Kobe's FG % is less than 45% and Amar'e is at 53%. He's scoring consistently and his team is winning. The Knicks are just one game behind the LA Lakers and that's not a lot considering how the Lakers are full of stars.
