Has anyone noticed the reinvigorating of the John F Kennedy legacy?

I agree that there seems to be a resurgence of interest in JFK and his assassination. He was well liked and a charismatic President. Times for the Democratic party were better then. A hero for Democrats would listen to and speak out for their constituents and then follow through on their promises to them.

I have another theory on why the Dems are hard hit lately. The Democratic party has been hijacked by progressives and these people are trying to take the country a direction that most Americans do not like. The Democratic party of today is not the party of JFK. JFK would not identify with the progressive movement. Polls show that 20% of Americans describe themselves as liberals, 40% as conservatives and 36% as moderates. When you have a group that is 20% or less trying to railroad almost 80% of the country to the radical far left you are going to meet resistance. Now, if you are a politician who is a progressive and you are in touch with the will of the people but you continue down your progressive path what does that tell you? It tells me that it is all about power, control and greed - not serving the American people who elected you. Obviously if these people got elected they either lied about their objectives or ideology or the people who elected them were not listening very well or did not do their homework on the candidates. People have now realized that what they thought they were getting is not what they bargained for and they aren't happy. Unless the Dems start to listen to their people instead of steam rolling through their radical left wing agenda they deserve to implode.

It replaced into Robert Kennedy who replaced into to blame for putting Civil Rights interior the leading edge and convincing his brother, John Kennedy, to offer a bill which could have been handed if he had no longer been assassinated. finally, Lyndon Johnson picked it up and pushed it by. Barack Obama isn't something like the two of the Kennedys. They have been achievers.

If you take a good look at Kennedy you will see that he wasn't all that liberal, he initiated a tax cut that led to prosperity, believed in a strong defense, It was a different world than it is now and comparisons are likely to be specious.

If you want heroes in this day and age, I would look to people like Chris Christie and Marco Rubio.

Liberals know they are a finished party, and apparently think they can be resurrected by claiming to be like Kennedy.

Kennedy type democrats already exist but don't support liberalism, they're either republican now or independents.

Kennedy has always been idealized though, even among conservatives (IE, he's an example of a 'good' democrat). It isn't a recent trend.

I mean, you put a man on the moon, you kind of get a free pass.
