The word 'belief' in there sums it all up, no one really knows what makes a person intellegent, tests show that certain things can impact the IQ of children, fish oil, learning games, a good night's sleep and the like, and so IQ cannot be wholly genetic, however differences in the brains of high achievers do show genetic disparities to the norm in many cases. Not that we really understand how these differences impact upon intellegence.

And of course IQ and intellegence are not truely synonimous anyway, many high IQ people achieve very little, have no social skills and could barely run their own lives. Conversely some lower IQ people are increadibly successful because they have skills which we don't measure.

Knowledge is important, and also what you do with that knowledge, how you put it together to generate something original is what makes you a lateral thinker, or just a normal person.

I think that happiness is more important than intellegence, here are two (miss)quotes for you:

Wisest is he who knows he knows nothing

In much knowledge is much grief, and he who increaseth wisdom, increaseth sorrow

It can not be measured so easily. Because we are human and knows to tell the truth and also knows to avoid the truth.
