How do I get around the problem of having to move HD lead from Sky box to Bluray DVD player?

I have a Samsung 40" from about 3/4 years ago and it only has 1 HD lead socket. So if I want to watch a DVD I have to unplug HD lead from back of Sky box and put into Bluray player which is a bit of a mare. I went into TV shop they said HD splitter plugs are useless and suggested something but I forgot what it was, an amp or tuner or something.

It sounds as if the geezer in the TV shop was trying a bit of up-selling!!

Good quality HDMI splitters or switches do work and they work well, too.

The TV guy was trying to sell you a home cinema system instead, which costs hundreds of pounds. An HDMI splitter would cost you about a tenner or so...

You can see what I mean by "up-selling"!
