i find it annoying because the rules that apply to a majority of the students don't apply to them and to me that's just not fair.

Well, I feel that it is unfair. However, if the teacher had favorites, that means that the professor has a connection with the class, and he cares about them. It can get bad when they only care about those students and not the rest of the class. It's also annoying when the other kids are bad but the professors still adore them. So basically, it's annoying.

I think it depends on how you define 'favorites.' I can tell you that professors/teachers like it when students are making an effort to learn the subject.

    1) Depends on whether or not you are the favorite.

    2) Depends on your definition of favorite.

There are pros and cons to both. I don't arbitrarily rule out favorites of the prof simply because I am not the preferred favorite...

They bug me. My english teacher choses favorites, and I used to be one of them until I fell from grace by dropping his Senior Project class next semester. Now he hardly says anything to me when he goes around asking everyone how they're doing on their current English essays.

I think it's smart, because it creates academic competition amongst the kids. Children will do anything for recognition from someone they respect, especially if they can see that it's available.

It doesn't feel good when you aren't the favorite, but school isn't there to make you feel good.

    Me:F*CK!

    Teacher:Go to the office!

    Favorite:F*CK!

Teacher:Hahaha you too man! Now after that i will give you a A+ on that sh*tty test you did and after that make sure you get honours!

being favorites come with perks i guess....too bad im not one of them :(
