For those who saw "Basic Instinct," did any of you find this scene disturbing?

The scene when Nick tells Gus, "Page 67, cowboy." And then he opens the book "Love Hurts," and they show the surreal drawing of the rock and roll star, dead.

I found that to be the most disturbing scene, and the surreal musical score made it unnerving. More-so than the killings. I'm tough, I could handle graphic depictions of violence. It happens in our world. Nothing new. But the drawing made me cringe.

The graphic, and surreal, drawing of the rock and roll star bleeding, in kinda of a cartoonish world (different from the gritty depiction of Johnny Boz's murder in the beginning of the film).

Now why did they make it cartoonishly surreal? (I mean he's in bed, and the city is in bad of him, in kinda cartoonish fashion, with a film strip going to him, and blood flowing throughout the city, lol) Was it to make the movie disturbing?

I admit, if it would've been a realistic drawing I wouldn't've been as scared.

*the city is in back of him, NOT on the window, IN BACK OF HIM

Was that cover done to be more frighteningly scary

Update:

Thank you for the gift.

And you're right.

I wanna see what other people who've seen the movie would've said.

Update 2:

I mean this movie is not for everyone. And it's disturbing. I can't lie. It's one of those movies that some people hate, but at the same time, even the most uninterested viewer can be lured to it. That's what makes this movie work so effectively.
