how much do company's charge to install Christmas lights?
someone told me they charge by the number or lights, 5$ a light...
and someone else said they charge by the foot, like between 1-3$ a foot..
anyone know for sure? because there is a big price difference.

You might want to check on Craigslist. In my area I saw a lot of people looking for work charging to install/setup lights for people.

Don't use any company to put up my Christmas Lights so I wouldn't know. If you've got a small display you'd be better off doing it yourself. A large display, say several hundred feet to two or three thousand feet, then you may want to hire some help.
