My supervisor lied about me in my performance evaluation.?

A few months back my supervisor not only neglected to mention my accomplishments in my evaluation, but he also lied about things that happened through the year. I was accused of breaking rules and not turning in work assignments all of which he claims to have talked to me about.

I talked to him in person and asked him to correct the inaccuracies and to be more descriptive because his vagueness left a lot to the imagination. His response was, "all good points but I am not going to make any changes".

Because of this I was forced to write a 16 page rebuttal that contained emails and other documents that more than proved him wrong. I gave him a copy and one to HR.

He talked to me again after that and let me know that ALL the managers felt it was a slap in the face and were upset with me. I told him I followed the company policy and did nothing wrong. He stuck to his guns. As we discussed the rebuttal more and he ran out of lies to defend his evaluation he pulled a list of every error I have ever made since 2007 and repeatedly told me if I wanted changes made he would put the whole list on my evaluation. At that point I knew we were done talking and wrapped it up.

I then talked to the Chief Appraiser in our office, he is my supervisors boss. He told me he hadn't even heard about my rebuttal and did not consider it a slap in the face. He also told me I did follow policy and did no wrong. He also agreed that his comments were vague and misleading but he did not get into the parts that were false.

Because my evaluation will impact any future promotions, can I take my supervisor to court for defamation? Is there any recourse for the coercion? Is it wrong to think that my employer should reimburse me for the 10+ hours I spent on my rebuttal? I could see if we had some minor disagreements and I wrote a page, but 16 pages just to set the record straight?

sure, that's criminal to ask for overall performance comments from former employers. Former employers have not got any criminal criminal accountability to maintain the comments indefinitely. optimal do no longer. Your husband's former employers did what's mandatory of them by ability of regulation, date of hire, interest % out, and very final day on the interest. skill employers have the nicely suited to ask interest applicants for extra advice. interest overall performance comments are subjective. So are very own references; might you grant an destiny employer a foul reference? of course now no longer. What are the possibilities that your husband gets the interest after he gets the mandatory concepts? they did no longer verify that he might get the interest, did they? what selection greater applicants are they screening? i assume optimal are a minimum of the two or greater qualified than your husband. it sort of appears like the employer is only overlaying their back in the journey that your husband (or the quite a few applicant) might checklist a discrimination in astounding condition adverse to them.
