what's it like taking a bus?

I've never done it before in my life...I lost my license due to a DUI and my parents are making me take a bus to work. I'm absolutely terrified...mostly because I'll admit, I do have a lot of pride and I really just don't want people to see me at a bus stop/on the bus but I also don't know what the people on the bus are going to be like....I'm nervous and scared and really don't want to do it.....help please?

It's like the biggest pain in theass in the world.

The people are axe murderers and dope addicts. If your co workers see you, you'll be the laughing stock of the company.

People that ride the bus everyday don't really care that you are riding the bus. I rode a bus to work for months. The first few times took adjustment because the surroundings were so unusual for me. Crammed into a dim-lit bus with total strangers was not my cup of tea.

It's almost like the first day of school. Everything is new, including your box of crayons. Shiny hallways and many unknowns face you head on, like scary teachers, strange cafeteria food and silly rules like taking turns and standing in line. By the time you have gone to school after a month, it is no big deal. And all those wonderful crayons are now broken and not pointy anymore.

Most people on the bus will not even notice you. Most of them (like me after awhile) ride the bus with their minds somewhere else.

If nothing else, treat yourself to a nice new box of crayons. And smile.

I've never taken a bus before either. Tell us your experience. I'm hoping for a horror story.

Its a metal tube full of people who all don't wanna be there, need to get to work and wish they had cars. :P

its not bad, had to take one everyday last year, you get used to it, start memorizing the schedule and alternate routes just in case you miss your bus.

It's no big deal....don't be a waa waa.

We all have to do things that we don't want to do.

Unless you can get a friend or family member to drive you...it may be you only choice.

Besides just think about all the life experience you'll get from it.

It's like riding on a train except there are no rails, or conductors or dining cars.
