ARTIST: Alicia Cook, better known as Alicia Keys

FACTOIDS:
- She's from Hell's Kitchen.
- She has appeared on screen and lent her voice more than a few times - Charmed, Sesame Street, The Backyardigans, an Elmo Christmas special, The Nanny Diaries, The Secret Life of Bees, and was even on The Cosby show in the 80s when she was four. Just to name a handful.
 -She graduated valedictorian from the Professional Performing Arts School at 16.
- Her first recorded song was "Dah Dee Dah (Sexy Thing)", which was in the first Men In Black movie.
- Kylie Minogue is a fan of Alicia's. That tickled me :p

HOW I FOUND HER: I liked her singles as a kid (her first album came out when I was ten) but it wasn't until I actually picked up an album last year that I fell in love with the music. 

ALBUM I RECOMMEND FIRST: Start at the beginning with 'Songs In A Minor' and continue from there. I don't care for her 3rd one and the 4th one is a bit weak, but the first two are top notch.

I have heard of her I have an older sister that's a big fan. this female artist actually has talent I didn't realize what a good piano player she is. good voice too. 

Troubles - is a real moving song you just don't get those "reaching out" songs like you used to but this is a good example of one. whoever put the video together put some sad photos in there but then at 4:00 made me laugh. the guy with the broken bear bottle freaking out on the cop and the other dudes laughing behind him lol. 

Mr. Man - no not for me sorry. 

Diary, You Don't Know My Name and Empire State Mind, all good songs as I said good piano work on Empire. She does some really soothing work she seems to be the Sade Adu of the pop genre I mean she has soul, r&b elements too but in my opinion Sade is a tad bit better vocally speaking. but Sade Adu is pure class as far as female artists go so I consider it a great compliment. if I am stressing on something Sade can calm me down from anything. anyway Cook/Keys = Class shes not some of this mainstream pop garbage you hear now a days from younger female artist lets see Lady Gaga and Katy Perry come to mind. thanks again Vicky well put together as usual.
