Well it depends in the season.
If it's in summer wear typical summer clothes.
If it's in winter wear a jacket and pack a wooly jersey or something else that could keep you warm. Because it rains in NZ winters.
And remember NZ is in the southern hemisphere so the seasons are in inverse to the northern hemisphere.
As it is in February I'd recommend summer clothing but to pack a pair of jeans and a light jacket and sweater just in case it gets cold or rainy.
Good luck.

New Zealand being small islands down in the South Pacific ocean means the weather can be very changeable any time of the year and often in one day. Makes it exciting and not boring. However in February it is generally nice and warm thru' the country. Summer clothing yes but carry a light jacket just in case wherever you go.
Have a good trip

What you need to know: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/
dec-feb = summer
march-may = autumn
june-august = winter
sept-nov = spring
so yeah it is summer right now. Not today however, it's been raining and a bit chilly for the last 2 weeks. I heard we've got similar weather to britain. Bring whatever you can, you can always buy some stuff here. Not everything's expensive as long as you look in the right places. We do have sales and deals etc.
NZYA doesn't have it's own palmy section. Just the main big cities, i wonder why there ain't a BOP section though.
