You've heard the phrase "Follow you around like a puppy dog"?
My dogs follow me every where I go almost all the time like 95% of the time.

Unless asked/told not to my dog is at my side wherever I go, Especially to the kitchen. A kitchen visits means a tea fill-up for me and a chicken strip for him if he doesn't run ahead.

Yes my black Lab has been nicked named the Black Shadow cuz he follows me everywhere around the house.
2 things this could mean, He respect me & sees me as the Alpha dog the "pack leader" as submissive dogs will always follow the pack leader, never the other way around.
The other meaning is obsession. The dog may suffer from a bit of separation anxiety or see you as his follower (his puppy) & is following you around to protect you. However signs of the later will show symptoms of crying & scratching at the door if you close the door behind you, misbehaving, not listening to commands & aggression towards people touching you.
Hope this answered you question.

Yes, but he has his reasons.
1. I am alpha.
2. He has horrible separation anxiety. He was a former pound puppy living nearly all of his life (a whole year..) in an outdoor kennel. Its understandable why he is like this, and I encourage him to branch out.
Today he actually went and set his territory with the cat, and chewed on his bone at a greater than 5 foot radius around me. He did come in and check in, but otherwise was pretty independent for the last hour which is pretty remarkable.

My other dog will follow me around for 10 minutes at a time and then gets bored and he goes to follow someone else lol

Many breeds do follow their owners around. Usually these are the breeds intended to work closely with humans, like herding and toy groups. Others, like sight and scent hounds and very large placid breeds might not want to, or might plant themselves where they can see their family move about without getting up. ;-)
I love the "velcro" dogs; most of my Dobermans, Schipperkes, Poodles and Samoyeds were definitely the velcro sort. I had an Afghan hound who could care less where I went. I prefer the former.

Dogs are pack animals and there is always an alpha dog. Humans are the alpha dogs b/c we take care of them. According to scientific research, dogs have evolved to the point that they NEED humans. My 2 dogs follow me everywhere and they go in their crate when I don't want them in the bathroom with me! Sounds like you have a loyal companion who has pegged you as the pack leader. He needs training to "stay" and lots of patience. When people become frustrated with this behavior and speak sharply, the opposite of what is desired occurs- dog becomes more clingy. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

Always. I literally have 5 dogs following me form room to room whenever I'm home. I love it that way! I wouldn't change it for anything in the world!

He used to until I kept stepping on his paws and get scared the crap out of me. So now I walk him and then tell him with good feeling to lay on his place and not worrying about stepping on him:)
He is small Pom mix and he will lay beside me if I read a book or watch the tv but he will lay in his place when he see me cooking or cleaning:)
