If you really want to get into the strict type of rules, no it isn't haram as long as you have other people around. No one on one in a room hangouts. MSN is getting iffy because of the flirtations and emotional affairs that happen on there. But for your husband to forbid you to talk to your male friends.. wow.
ps for Nikola's answer. Please don't get culture mixed with a religion. If you read the koran it shows you how women SHOULD be treated... in fact they are regarded above a man. There are countries that have traditional cultural rules.... who HAPPEN to have islam as the religion practised in that country coincidentally.

You don't have to be a Muslim to have an overly possessive boyfriend. It is a little different for you because women are treated like dirt in the middle east countries where Muslim is the dominant religion. If you are a traditional Muslim your parents probably chose your husband for you. I suggest dumping religion, connect with reality and find happiness.

i'm not a sheikh but from what I know it's haram if you touch them like shake hands and stuff. your husband has to also be there when you talk to them. and Allah knows best.

Yes. Allah hates human contact.

You are to respect your husband. No it is not.
But if your husband are jealous then it is.
Unless you are in his (your husband) company.
