What are the best suspenseful novels ever?

Almost anything by Dan Brown will top the list. His Da Vinci code spent like 2 years on the NY Bestseller list, along with several of his earlier works like Angels and Demons, Deception Point, and Digital Fortress.

His most recent work is The Lost Symbol, and while good, it didn't hold my attention nearly as much as the previous works.
