This is for a budget As in low cost but enough for your fish to have a long life .

    Atleast a 39galUK/47galUS

    Coral sand would be better

    Heater

    Filter

Big slate in a horizontal position

Flat rocks for the surface on the sand

    Bogwood

Ocean rock is good but not needed

Alot of rock is good for Cichlid tanks

The normal cycling for a normal tank

    Plants would be good

You could also get two or mo fish for your tank wich is alright until a few years later.

Remember some people have their head up their arses so high lol

But still the tank size is all good

well..you need a larger tank..at least a 55gal for a couple..maybe even a 75 gal min. for 3-4. you need excelent filtration because they are indeed cichlids, they also need hiding places because they like to hide often, and will be very skiddish at first. you wont need "coral" sand..just regular play sand, rinsed in a bucket until its clear as day. im unfamiliar with ocean rock, but slate with the corners sanded down will be adequite..and use driftwood, it looks the nicest, if you are using natural driftwood, like you go to a creek and get it, let it set in water to soak for a long time. but petstores sell driftwood also. read up on google with them, and i strongly advise you researching on monsterfishkeepers.com, the best fish keeping website avaliable. parrots make great fish, with funny personalities.

fish tank, external filter, heater, water dechlorinator ocean rock or anything thats on display you can use rinse it well. put water in the tank then gravel or coral sand and decorations leave everything on for a week and then test your water if its all fine then you can buy your parrot cichlids :). get alot of decorations and plants as it will look alot better than bare tank
