How much money do you spend on you child at Christmas?
My child is 8 and an only child. I was wondering what the average amount of money people spend on Christmas presents is - both from you and from Santa.Everything is so expensive and it seems to cost a fortune to "bulk"up the presents under the tree and give the effect that Santa has been! How much have you spent on your child this Christmas?

I don't even want to add it all up to be honest, because i know my kids are spoilt and i know we spend hundreds of pounds on them, and i'll only cry. We havent even opened our December credit card bill. ....... And Santa gets all the credit!!! lol. Although with my youngest being 7, i think this is the last year we will have the magic of Santa delivering. At least next year we can tone it down cos both boys will know that its actually our credit card paying for it!!!!
....but yeh, it's several hundred quid each ..at least!!!

We spend 200€ for each (two girls). But it is ONE present. We have the Christmas Stockings with small gifts for the 24th and the presents for the 25th.
But actually it is not the money we spend, it just happens that both had some gift wishes we full fill.
They are older than your child, so this is different too.
But the main thing is to me: is there something they would love to have (play with) and are interested in and not just buy as many presents as you can afford. Just think about your child, it's ability's, interests or things he/she would enjoy, even after Christmas
merry Xmas!!

i think xmas has got way out of hand these days, as long as you get them what they want thats the main thing, my kids get one thing what they want and then anything else they need is wrapped up, you have to nip this one in the bud before it spirals out of control, people get into far much debt just to say "ive spent 500 on mine this year" ha more fool you
Mine are getting a skate board and a telescope, thing is buy loads and they dont appriciate it!
merry christmas :)

How much I really spend is my Love for my tiny darling...that is the biggest price ...
Depends on how much savings there is and your financial budget.
I don't overload and overspend for christmas because of birthday occasions too.

My kids get 2 satsumas, one banana and 2 shillings if they've been good through the year.

You spend what you can afford. I have spend a lot when the children where young and a little when they were young. It is what you can afford and want to spend.
