Why do men mumble I love you the first time? (adults only)?

Ok last night this guy I have been seeing pretty exclusively for a while (no sex though) was over watching a movie and randomly mumbled "I love you." Or at least I think that's what he said. But he said so quietly and into my shoulder that I wasn't sure... Leaving me clueless how to respond. What if he said something else. We have only been dating for about a month and haven't discussed any sort of committment so it really made me wonder what he said. In the end I didn't respond in anyway. This isn't the first time a guy has whispered I love you the first time... So why? I know if I am the first one to make a move, I like to make eye contact first and be clear about it.

Because it's a hard thing to admit and say. (Dating for a month is extremely short but how long has he known you for?)

I do the same thing. It's just hard to admit. You want to be all excited and tell her how awesome she is but you don't want her to freak out, think you're weird... that stuff.

When guys make eye contact and say they love you they dont always mean it, especially if its the first time. If they mumble it it means they are nervous, so probably do mean it. Have you known him longer than the time youve been dating?

This guy is either really clingly and didnt realise how fast it was to say it, or he honestly does love you, even if its only been a month. You could try and talk to him about it, ask him how he feels?

You could of been mistaken, maybe he said "I want you" or something?

Maybe they don't want to scare you away, maybe they are just unsure about their feelings, maybe they think it sounds more romantic.

But if I'm honest I don't reckon he would have said it whilst watching a movie....

But it is hard for most guys to admit their feelings...

    Please answer mine...
