Is it worth getting Assassins Creed 1?

My brother just got me Assassins Creed 2, and he said it was a great game. I'm definitely gonna play that. But I'm a firm believer in being involved in a series through the whole thing. So, should I get Assassins Creed; is its story related to the sequel at all? Or is the game just too repetetive and boring that I shouldn't even bother?

Assassins creed is definitely a game that, playing the rest of the series, is a must. If you play AC 2 without playing AC 1, you will be much confused. Unless you've read books about the game or know the story, get AC 1. Also, AC brotherhood just came out, and if you play AC1, then AC2, you can play AC brotherhood and be on track. It may take a while for each game, but believe me, it pays off. My suggestion, get AC1.Hope I helped

Definitely. If you jumped straight into 2 without playing the original you would likely have no clue as to what was happening. Play through the first, then try the second. It will also be better this way because if you play 2 first and complete it but decide you then wanted to play 1 the controls would feel terrible because you would be used to the smoother AC2 controls. Whereas if you play it the other way round you wont have to put up with worse controls once you finish 1.

Assassin's Creed 1, you play as Altair and in 2 you play as Ezio, but i would play the first game first because it'll explain alot about the current war thats going on with desmond and the assassins and abstergo's templars

I would vote yes. The game has a lot of fun things in it and I really enjoyed it. I can't say much about it because I've only played it at my friends house. Like all good games evantually it WILL get boring however this game is one of that rare kind that lasts for a good while.

assassin's creed isnt really like a series. I mean, in the 1st one you have Altair as the character and in the 2nd one you have some guy named Ezio. So it really doesnt matter, I personally love Assassin's Creed. Besides, you can swim in the 2nd one and not die xD

It is repetitive, yes, but I would play it just because it'll help you understand the story a bit more. It's awesome if you play it before the other games, but if you wait until afterwards, you have no hope of playing through.

I would buy it just because it's pretty cheap and fun to play through.

Should defiantly play one first, story line carries over to two and you get to see all that they actually upgraded from the first one. Btw AC: Brotherhood is a good buy as well if your getting in to the game at all.
