Is there a western & eastern hemisphere?

How can there be a eastern & western hemisphere if you can travel west infinitely & you can travel east infinitely.

    It is only a cartographers technicality.

    The Zero Meridian passes through Greenwich, England. Anything WEST of that meridian (proceeding to the 180-degree meridian) is considered Western Hemisphere) and anything EAST of the point (proceeding to the 180-degree meridian) is considered Eastern Hemisphere.

    Still, only a map-makers convenience, and nothing more. For example, MOSt of Europe is technically in the Eastern Hemisphere, but ALL of Europe is still considered to be a "western" society.

    Yes, there is a western and an eastern hemisphere, I know, strange, right?
