As soon as a fertilized egg successfully implants into the uterus the natural progression of a human life cycle will move thru the human stages of development without you having to do anything else.

That is when I believe a human life cycle should be considered to have begun and unnaturally ending a human life cycle in progress without any kind of self defense being involved should be considered murder.

I think most logically minded people would say at conception, I'm not sure it isn't before that. The Sperm has life in it, else it could not fertilize the egg. And the egg has life as well, or it could not be fertilized. Both the egg and the sperm cannot be said to be anything other than human, although the growth of a "new" person will not begin until they meet. I may have a pretty broad definition of life but I will never narrow my definition of life or human. Inhumanity results from narrowing one's definition of either.

This is a complicated question. From the viewpoint of both humanists and the followers of many faiths, there is an entry into the human condition and a leaving of it. I don't believe in one-celled citizens. If you take "life begins at conception" literally, then any woman who has an abortion for any reason and at any stage of pregnancy is guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, and so is everyone else involved, and they should be punished accordingly. The number of people who actually want to implement that is vanishingly small; so I presume they really haven't thought this through. You don't have to believe that abortion is murder to believe that it should be the last option considered. That's how I personally feel about it; pro-choice but wish that it was a choice seldom needed or made.

At conception is the time when the spirit of life comes. Spirit is the real person behind a mere weak body, and spirit is indestructible and will live eternally. It came not by an accident, but it was well planned by our mighty God even before the conception as the bible said.

To eliminate the featus inside the womb is to deprive the purpose this person could have brought into this world. And it against the will of God. The butcher of featus acted as God to take away what God had planned in the person. "Each child is sent into this world by God with a "Unique Message" to deliver, a new personal act of love to bestow"...

Genesis 9:6 states that we are made in God's image and therefore our lives are precious and whoever takes the life of another human being, forfeits the right to his own life.

We are made by God; "For you created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb....Your eyes say my unformed body." Psalm 139:13-16 (cf: Is 44:24; Acts 17:24-25; Psalm 100:3; Job 10:8-12)

Because all life was created by God and belongs to Him, no one has the right to murder another human being. "You shall not murder." Exodus 20:13. The Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood according to Proverbs 6:16-17. The Bible also teaches that we need to defend the weak and the helpless. "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves...defend the rights of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31:8-9 (cf Ps 82:3-4).

    Shalom,

Right at conception. The DNA from the egg and sperm blend, and the blueprint for a human being that is distinct from both the mother and the father has come into existence. It isn't quite as obviously alive as it will be 24 or so days in the future, when the heart tube begins to beat, but it's alive from a medical and scientific standpoint. It just takes a while for it to look more human. But not looking human does not mean it isn't a human. People seem to forget that, unfortunately.

If the United States had not Murdered (aborted) 53 million children Social Security would not be in financial trouble.. Most of the kids would be adults and be working and paying into the system. Any nation that sanctions the death of its littlest and most helpless citizens cannot expect the blessing of God. A woman has the right over her own body, but the baby has the right to his/her body. If you are alive and can read this, you are a hypocrite because your mother chose life, not death. Where are the women's rights people? Half of those babies are female.. More than one-third of the abortions in America kill black babies in the womb.

At conception, of course. That what the word means.

The key event is the assembly of the complete DNA fingerprint with contributions from both the father and the mother. This DNA code will subsequently be written into every cell of the body.

We humans are information, and our information is complete at the moment of conception. If God chooses to recreate us in heaven, he need only reassemble this information.

    Cheers,

At the time of conception human life begins for that life.

at no point during the interval given:

    • the parents are alive.

    • the egg is alive

    • the sperm is alive

    • the fertilized egg is alive

    • all are living human tissue

    The question should be:

when does the interests of the government supersede the interests of the parents?

Anyone who thinks it's justifiable for a government to extend it's reach into the womb of a woman is a fascist.

Human life begins at the moment of conception. At the moment of fertilization that is the beginning of human life. Quite simple. That is the starting point from whence a human being forms.
