Is it possible to paint over brass mirrored sliding doors?
I have mirrored sliding doors in my room (which I hate but I'm stuck with) and am planning on re-painting the room..
The problem is that the edges and tracks etc. are brass, rather than the traditional white..
Is there any way at all of painting over this brass to white or another colour to go with the new colours of the room?
Or is this impossible?

Absolutely! To paint, just lightly sand, prime and paint. Go with a gloss enamel. Oil is more durable on items that get a lot of use - like closet doors - but if you don't want to deal with painting with oil, a latex will work also.
Another option is to darken/glaze the brass to an oil-rubbed bronze or other finish - ck out http://themagicbrushinc.blogspot.com/ for inspiration.

It is possible but only if done with the proper paint & primer. Your best bet would be to buy a spray paint & primer designed to cover metal & follow the directions carefully. I believe both Rustoleum & Krylon make such products.
