How do you keep batteries from exploding?
I am getting a furby soon. They take batteries. My biggest fear is that the batteries will explode and it will never work. What can I do to keep batteries from exploding and ruining the toy?
I don't plan on microwaving it. I know that batteries tend to leak over time.

Don't buy cheap batteries.
Replace them when they need it.
Don't leave batteries in if the device will not be used for some time.
