Dog has cut on stomach, what do I do?
I went on a walk with my dog earlier but recently i realised he was licking his belly. He has a large cut wich looks deep. Its not bleeding but he is dirty and as the cut is deep and quiet big, im really worried. He has seemed alright all day but now ive seen this cut i am extremely worried. What do I do???? Please help!
Just to let you know I attempted to clean to the wound but he was crying and is now cowering. The wound isn't as deep as i first thought which is good. My dog has been cleaning it and i did get to clean it up a little bit. He is walking around and is able to jump up onto the sofa(although hesitantly). I'm just gonna play it by ear and if he doesn't want to go for a walk tomorrow or seems in pain i will rush him straight to the vet.
Anyway people who are saying go to the vet, thanks for the advice but its 11 o'clock on Christmas eve and no vets are open.
p.s. i was only asking for friendly advice, no need for unhelpful comments.

Keep the wound clean. Call a vet or -vet and describe what you see.

Keep the wound clean. You can try to put some Neosporin on it and try to secure some gauze. One of my puppies did the same thing and it wasn't until we were wrestling that I noticed the cut. It was just a flesh wound, but the vet said it could go either way with stitches. I just kept it clean and put Neosporin on a gauze pad and kept it as secured as I could. It all depends on how deep it really is though. A vet visit might need to happen.

Keep the wound clean and try to keep him calm so he won't make it worse. Get to a vet, or an emergency vet, immediately so the cut won't become infected. Good Luck! :)

Give him a bath, shave around the cut with an electric shaver. Clean the would well. You can use wound glue, or super glue, tho hold the wound together. He really needs to go to the vet, and have them clean and suture it, and put him on antibiotics incase of a secondary infection.

If you were extremely worried, you'd be on the way to the vet's office for stitches (which is needed) not on your computer.
