This old fool is also from Kansas.
As a matter of fact, this old fool lives right around the corner and just down the street from "Dorothy and Toto".
Howdy neighbor!
This is the last question that this old fool shall ask!

I hope this is not the last question you ask, this old fool finds them always challenging & I would miss both them & you.
Has the true meaning of Love been lost?
Not lost, but certainly forgotten!
It's been replaced with the worlds concept of Love which is never permanent & always conditional.
I spent most of my life looking for the answer to the question what is Love & what does it mean to Love another. I am sure I will spend the rest of my life adding to my current understanding.
Love is not about sex, has nothing to do with male/female relationships, & it is not something you "find" by searching for it.
Love is a quality of our Being.
Love manifests when one has experienced the Unity of Us.
To Love another is to recognize Self in the other, regardless of their ability to do so.
To Love another means to care for, much as a mother cares for the child.
In True Love, what is helpful & best for the other is as important as self interests because the concept of "Self" has been expanded to include what we now call others.
In many ways I think Love is limited when we try to put it into words, just as we are & God is.
Anytime I have experienced anything close to True Love, it very much felt like an extension of my Self & as something vectored that was more than this limited concept I have of Self.
(LOL! There that paradox again!)
In those times, I felt more whole, more truly alive than any other.
God is Love, & God extended & we came to Be.
It is by extension that we come to know our True nature is Love also.
Multitudes of books & discourses about the nature of Love have been written, & still man searches for the meaning.
Man searches in the wrong places.
We can't find Love out there because Love is what we are.
I sought a great deal of my life to be Loved only to never feel Loved.
When finally I stopped seeking to be Loved & began to give Love, I ceased to feel unloved.
It is in the giving we receive, because it is in the giving we Become.
Quite possibly one of the greatest lessons of my life, or at least one I am most grateful to have experienced.
Many Blessings!
May you have a Joyous Holiday!

Puppy love is an informal term for feelings of love, particularly between young people during adolescence, so-called for its resemblance to the adoring, worshipful affection that may be felt by a puppy. The term is often used in a derogatory fashion, describing emotions which are shallow and transient in comparison to other forms of love such as romantic love. Puppy love, also commonly known as a "crush", can also describe the love or lust of a child or adolescent for an adult. For example, a student being attracted to his or her teacher could be considered puppy love. In this case, the term relates an infatuation which is not reciprocated. The term may meet with resistance from some people as patronising and belittling of genuine emotion.

A young person who has not really experienced love or a relationship before. They have a crush or puppy love. Like puppy fat, it goes away when you grow up. It's also a childish kind of love, Because your only young and dont understand the real meaning or the gravity of love and feelings, etc. Not trying to be mean, we all live and learn. Everyone goes through the same things.

The answer is in front of us in one of the most often quoted verses of scripture. Matt 22:37-40. "Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The meaning has been lost because of over-analysis, where it is quite straightforward: When you look at another, in all ways do not see another - see yourself. In truth, this is so. They are not different from you. They are part of you. We are all part of the body of the Church which has Christ as the head. There is no way to neglect or attack another without feeling it yourself. There is no way to honor another without honoring yourself and feeling it.
Of course I speak of the true self, but the ego wants us to see it instead, and to see the differences, not the true aspect. If you look at another and see someone different, you are using your ego to look at their ego, and both are lying to you.

It's a Christian biblical saying and the number one law of the Lord. Love one another means to love everyone no matter what because as Christians, we are to live as Christ-like as possible.
Love one another for love is of God
He who loves is born of God and knows God
He who does not love does not know God
For God is love.

The meaning truly has been lost.
To love one another means to love another, without conditions, as you love yourself.
And there's the problem, how many people actually take the time to Know Themselves?
Much less, love themselves, without which, you can't truly love another.

i think it means to treat everyone as the eternal being they are
with kindness forgiveness and respect
and for those you make relationships with, affection and truth
godly love is taking them as they are but not wanting to leave them as they are, wanting development and growth for everyone,
wanting everyone to join us in heaven, no matter how lost they are, sometimes it means letting them hit rock bottom, other times it means speaking the naked truth though it hurts, other times it means making a sacrifice, other times its staying silent, God guides us to what to do if we let Him
